Celebrity Portrait: Mick Jagger
Similar to the glamorous allure that Hollywood had to offer, Warhol admired the notorious lifestyle of
sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll as well. He produced a series of ten screen prints of the Rolling Stones lead singer
Mick Jagger in 1975. Images for the portrait were used from photographs that Warhol personally took of Jagger.
Previous to creating his portrait, Warhol and Jagger had been friends since Warhol designed
the band’s album cover for Sticky Fingers in 1963.
